Prevalence and molecular identification of Plasmodium falciparum in symptomatic individuals in Nyala city, Sudan

Background: Malaria is one of the most important infectious diseases in tropical and subtropical regions, 45% population living areas that suffer from stable malaria transmission Sudan. The prevalence symptomatic Plasmodium infection based on microscopy RDTs poorly documented Nyala city. This study was conducted to determine plasmodium molecular identification species city, Sudan.
 Methods: A cross-sectional July 2018 December total 300 suspected patients were enrolled this study. Microscopy performed estimate nPCR detect genus species.
 Results: Of patients, 113 (37.7%) positive for malaria. falciparum only prevalent detected amongst population. by (37.7 %) 106 (35.3 %), respectively. While PCR result showed 47 (47%).
 Conclusions: identified P. falciparum, findings demonstrate no existence non-falciparum malaria, children less than five years old infected patients. diagnostic performance better diagnosis infection.
